 There have been many studies showing the positive psychological properties of trees, and this is only one of the most recent. The conclusion arises from research done at the University of Florida by Professor Andrew Koeser. Trees, Koeser has discovered, "enhance the experience of both tourists and residents as they drive to their destinations.” Trees bring both beauty and stress relief to the roadside. National Tree Day! - September 17

What could be more natural than, smack-dab in the middle of National Forest Week, the designation of National Tree Day? Most trees, like this fine specimen of Horse Chestnut, are still in their full summer glory. But we won't have to wait long now for the Fall colours to arrive. National Tree Day is being supported and publicized by Tree Canada. Their suggestions for ways to celebrate include: volunteer, plan an event, plant a tree, donate, shop green, and tell your story.
